The Palmetto Plant Eaters Club is free, open to the public, and meets monthly to teach and support whole food, plant-based vegan eating and living. The Club will host Mary Lou Beavers as its guest speaker on Wednesday, July 3rd at 6:30pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry building at 110 Malphrus Road in Bluffton, SC. She will discuss how to read a Nutrition Facts food label found on packaged foods in order to avoid too much salt, sugar, and oil as part of a a healthful, chronic disease-reversing and chronic disease-preventing whole food, plant-based diet and lifestyle.

The one hour Palmetto Plant Eaters Club meeting will consist of introductions, announcements, upcoming calendar events, and the guest presentation. Afterward a Q&A session will take place for the speaker and to address any general plant-based lifestyle topics. Our meetings are for the curious, newbies, and longtime plant-based and vegan practitioners alike. A drawing will be held and one vegan prize will be given away to one meeting attendee. Must be present to win. Learn more about the Palmetto Plant Eaters Club at http://www.PalmettoPlantEaters.com

Mary Lou Beavers co-founded the Eat Smart Live Longer Club in Sun City with her two sisters in 2013.  She developed the concept of a lending library for the club.  She also provides a monthly grocery store tour where she teaches club members to make better food choices and how to correctly read the Nutrition Facts label.  Teaching comes naturally to her as she taught school for 25 years in the Atlanta area.
