The Palmetto Plant Eaters Club is free, open to the public, and meets monthly to teach and support whole-food, plant-based vegan eating. The Club will host Chef Amber Marie as its guest speaker on Wednesday, February 5th at 6:30pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry building at 110 Malphrus Road in Bluffton, SC. She will discuss overcoming food addictions and emotional eating, which foods are most addictive and why, and how to manage related habits and challenges that interfere with health and wellness goals.
The one hour Palmetto Plant Eaters Club meeting will consist of introductions, announcements, upcoming calendar events, and the guest presentation. Afterward a Q&A session will take place for the speaker and to address any general plant-based lifestyle topics. Our meetings are for the curious, newbies, and longtime plant-based vegan practitioners alike. A drawing will be held and one vegan prize will be given away to one meeting attendee. Must be present to win. Learn more about the Palmetto Plant Eaters Club at http://www.PalmettoPlantEaters.com
Chef Amber Marie relocated to the Savannah/Hilton Head area from South Florida about two years ago and has been working as a private chef and nutrition educator for about a decade. She holds a culinary degree from Johnson & Wales University, an education degree from New York University, and a law degree from CUNY School of Law. Prior to entering the culinary field, she was an attorney for the government in New York City, but her lifelong passion for cooking and a series of health challenges led her to reconsider her priorities. She has studied nutrition extensively to not only regain her own health but to better support her clients. She has assisted individuals, families, and institutions looking to go raw/vegan/vegetarian, worked around food allergies, managed specific health issues, and helped those wishing to lose weight and control compulsive food behavior. She loves planning menus to display her creativity but prides herself in being extremely clean and organized. Because she also enjoys travel, she loves to incorporate elements of various cuisines into her cooking. Her clients, with all of their various tastes and backgrounds, appreciate such versatility. She currently offers private cooking classes and nutrition coaching in addition to chef services for customized weekly meals and special events.
